This scrapbook chronicles a one week visit to Germany for the 1936 Summer Meeting of the Institution of Locomotive Engineers. It contains maps of the areas visited, agendas, menus, photographs taken by and of Harold Holcroft, and postcards to illustrate the places visited. It is fully annotated, with each numbered item referenced in Holcroft's detailed diary of events. The cover of the scrapbook features the Nazi flag, which was Germany's official flag at the time. In the scrapbook, several references are made to the political situation in Europe, and especially Germany, at the time.
Included separately to the scrapbook are an itinerary for the trip and a programme of events. Finally, it includes a script for a talk to accompany a slideshow of pictures from the trip by Harold Holcroft.
