This photograph shows the TeD video disc. The caption on the reverse reads "The Video Disc. Video and sound signals in a video disc are pressed into an extremely thin and flexible PVC foil which, although it may appear flimsy, is in fact extremely tough, and can easily withstand 1,000 playings without damage. By the development of a new vertical recording method, it is possible to cut between 130 and 150 grooves per millimetre, in contrast to the 10 to 13 sound grooves per millimetre on an ordinary gramophone record".
