A collection comprising of two accounts relating to the purchase of two steam engines from Peel, Williams and Peel of Manchester by Coates and Wright of Ingleton. These date from 1835 and 1844 and give the cost of the two engines along with other components and work needed to install them. In addition to this there is a list of components for the 1835 engine that were transported by Mr John Hargreaves from Manchester to Lancaster for Coates and Wright. There is also a note dated 1859 written by Coates giving a history of the two steam engines installed in the mill.
