Shop round for glycerine and blackcurrant, empty, white label with gold and red border.
Glycerine is a clear, sweet-tasting alcohol based liquid used as for flavouring and as a preservative in many pharmaceutical preparation. Blackcurrent was also likely used for its taste. It is possible that this jar held lozenges made to the pharmacist's own receipe for sale in their shop.
