Pewter pap boat, possibly French, 1701-1800
A pap boat is a small bowl used for feeding pap to infants and invalids. This boat has a handle for the feeder and an elongated lip which would have been placed on the mouth of the person being fed.
Pap was a gruel-like substance usually made up of bread, flour, and water.
