Glass and silver infant's feeding bottle, with polychrome design, German, 1701-1800

Infants and babies were fed a mixture called pap made from bread or flour diluted with water to supplement breast milk. Panada was another mixture commonly used made from bread broth, legumes with fats or eggs. The mixture was placed in the glass bottle and sucked through the silver mouthpiece.
