Complete Grout's patent Invalids' foodwarmer, with royal arms mounted on front, made of metal with white earthenware containers, English, end of 19th century
This food warmer kept food warm while it was being transported from kitchen to patient or if the patient needed a long time to eat. The outer brass and tin case can be filled with hot water by unscrewing the cap at the top, providing the heat for the earthenware food containers. The case bears a royal crest design and has a handle for ease of transport.
