Artificial hand and forearm, 1601-1700
- Made:
- 1601-1700 in unknown place

Iron artificial right hand and forearm, with jointed thumb and fingers
Artificial iron arm, for left hand below-elbow amputee. Artificial limbs such as these were expensive items made by armourers, and they allowed wearers who had lost a limb in combat to continue with their fighting career. Believed to date from the 17th century, some examples of such arms have recently been recognised as later copies.
