Pair of Motor Racing Boots in Triple Laminated Nomex

Pair of blue motor racing boots in triple laminated Nomex. These are "Westover" boots, made by Edward Lewis shoes.

These boots are made of Nomex, a fire-resistant material which has been used for protective clothing in motor racing since the 1960s. Edward Lewis Shoes was known for specialising in racing boots, one of relatively few in the mid-20th century. Lewis himself had been a racing driver, competing in the 1960s alongside drivers like Graham Hill and Bruce McLaren.
