Two inactive M13 cloning kits for production of single stranded template DNA by Amersham International plc, 1987

M13 is a bacteriophage – a virus that infects certain types of bacteria – which contains a single strand of DNA. Sold for laboratory use only, this now inactive M13 kit was used to clone a single strand of DNA. As DNA normally exists elsewhere as a double helix structure, this single strand or template acts as a master copy and is used to generate DNA replication. The kit was made by Amersham International plc.
