Replica of Crick and Watson's 1953 DNA Double Helix Model, by Science Museum Workshops, South Kensington, London, England, 1993

This is a replica of Crick and Watson's 1953 model of the structure of DNA.

Using their knowledge of chemical bonds, along with X-ray crystallography results from the British chemist Rosalind Franklin, James Watson and Francis Crick worked out the double-helix structure of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), the molecule that acts as a blueprint for all living things.

This model was made in the Science Museum workshops in London.
