Medal commemorating Roger Bacon (1214-1294), 1818. Bronze; 41mm diameter, in halfcase 55mm diameter. Artist was Raymond Gayrard (1777-1858); supplier and publisher of series 1818-46 was Amedee Pierre Durand (1789-1873). Obverse, Rogerius Bacon; Head and shoulders representation of monk, right-facing in profile, signed Gayrard F. Reverse, inscription.
