Nobel Prize medal awarded to Arthur Harden, 1929. Gold; 66mm diameter, in brown case 11x11x1.5cm [not original Nobel case]. Artist was Johan Erik Lindberg b.1873, medal designed 1902. rim legend: gold 1929. obverse: relief portrait of Alfred Nobel, HS to L. reverse:muses of Natura and Scientia; signed brc, Erik Lindberg; plaque Arthur Harden MCMXXIX. The Nobel Prize for Chemistry 1929 was awarded jointly to Arthur Harden (1865-1940), University of London, United Kingdom, and Hans von Euler-Chelpin (1873-1964, Sweden) "for their investigations on the fermentation of sugar and fermentative enzymes"
