Le Prince patented this single-lens camera in 1888, with which he filmed arguably the earliest moving film footage in the world - Roundhay Garden Scence, Leeds Bridge and Accordion Player in Leeds in the same year. The camera, or 'receiver' as Le Prince called it, was made at his workshop in Leeds. At the front, the lower of the two lenses is the taking lens; the upper is the viewfinder lens.
