Model bottle in dyed perspex (acrylic) , used as an aid to bottle design, particularly to show the appearance of the filled bottle, 1960 onwards. Perspex is a trade name for transparent acrylic, registered by ICI on 16th November 1934. It is derived from the latin verb perspicere - to see through. Perspex was sold commercially by 1936.
