1x1ml amber glass ampoule of ergometrine maleate B.P. injection. 50 mm x 6 mm, 3g Information printed directly onto the ampoule in yellow lettering, reads, ' PP/ P.O.M./ INJECTION OF/ ERGOMETRINE/ MALEATE/ B.P./ 500 mcg in 1 ml/ ...' Although chemically similar to LSD, ergometrine is not controlled. It is used medicinally in child-birth to stimulate the smooth muscle of the uterus and encourage the passing of the placenta. It can also be used to induce a spasm in the coronary arteries. Maker unknown, 1960-1985.
