‘Serenace’ is a brand name for haloperidol. This antipsychotic drug treats disorders such as schizophrenia and acute psychotic states. This bottle contains 50 1.5mg tablets and was made by American manufacturer G. D. Searle and Company. Antipsychotic drugs were introduced in the 1950s. They increase or decrease chemicals in the brain called neurotransmitters which regulate things such as sleep, moods and emotions.
Controversially, haloperidol has also been used as a means of interrogation by various regimes worldwide. The US administration uses it to sedate illegal aliens being deported.
