Sheraton medicine chest, with 32 glass bottles, 14 labelled, hand balance, 13 weights, wooden box, watch glass, a piece of leather and 6 pottery jars, 18th century

Inside this mahogany medicine chest are 32 glass bottles (some labelled with the names of their original contents), six pottery jars and thirteen weights and a balance to measure and weigh out ingredients. Medicine chests were found in apothecary shops and pharmacies and some were owned by wealthy families.
