Wind tunnel model of the Scimitar aircraft. Made in the Royal Aircraft Establishment workshops.

This is a wind-tunnel model of the Supermarine Scimitar aircraft. The Scimitar was designed and built by the Supermarine division of Vickers-Armstrong Ltd. It was a single-seat, low-level strike aircraft powered by twin jet engines. The prototype made its first flight in 1956. The production version was in service with the Royal Navy from 1958 to 1969. This model was made in the Royal Aircraft Establishment workshops.
