Model of the BAC TSR2, c 1960.

Made:
circa 1960 in Farnborough
maker:
Royal Aircraft Establishment

Model of TSR2. Standard TSR2 except for small canard on front. Used in high speed wind tunnel. The TSR2 was conceived as a supersonic multi-role combat aircraft for the RAF and a replacement for the Canberra bomber. Although a prototype did fly, the aircraft was cancelled in 1965 due to technical difficulties and escalating costs. This model represents a standard TSR2 except for a small canard on the front. It was used in high speed wind tunnel tests.
