Concorde wind tunnel model, 1969.
High speed wind tunnel model of early Concorde shape, string mounted. Tapping points upper surface of port wing, lower surface starboard wing. This steel alloy model was one of many used to develop the design of the high speed passenger jet Concorde. The models were suspended in a high speed wind tunnel to analyse the varying resistance to the atmosphere of different wing and body shapes.
