London & North Western Railway open carriage truck

Railway wagon, open carriage truck, London & North Western Railway, No 11275 (British Railways No 021424) of 1908.

Open Carriage Trucks were built to be attached to passenger trains allowing passengers travelling long distances to load their horse-drawn vehicles onto the train. At their destination, they could continue their journey by road using fresh horses or their own that had travelled by horse box.
