Station sign, London & North Western Railway, Low Gill
- Made:
- 1846-1922 in unknown
Enamel station sign, London North Western Railway, Low Gill, painted yellow with black text and border.
In 1965 British Rail launched new branding that made public station signs and notices clear and easy to read. Before this date, sign style varied across the network and this made navigating stations harder, especially when advertising signs mixed with wayfinding signs, leading to confusion.
