Signalbox nameboard, Bellingham, North British Railway/London and North Eastern Railway, white with black text, wooden.

It was a legal requirement for signalboxes to display the name of the area on the signalbox. This helped the driver identify their location and follow the signalling requirements for that stretch of line.
