Signal box nameboard, Robin Hoods Bay

Signal box nameboard, Robin Hoods Bay, wood, white with black lettering and border.

It was a legal requirement for signalboxes to display the name of the area on the signalbox. This helped the driver identify their location and follow the signalling requirements for that stretch of line.
