Water Carrier, Midland Railway

Water carrier, Midland Railway, 50 gallons capacity, on two wheels and a roller, ex Sheffield Midland Station, Carriage & Wagon Department. Made by Hydes and Wigfull, Sheffield.

Carriage cleaners used water carriers to bring the water they needed for cleaning across the station. They also filled up the lavatory tanks of the on-board toilets.
