Commemorative plate, by Shenango China, Syracuse, c.1994, Baltimore & Ohio Railroad centenary, depicts round the rim horse-drawn car 1830, the Tom Thumb 1830, the Atlantic 1832, the Philip E Thomas 1838, the Wins's Camel 1851, Mogul 600 1875, the Lord Baltimore 1925 and first stone of the Baltimore Ohio Railroad laid July 4th 1828. Centre depicts scene of river, town, bridges and Harper's Ferry W.Va. Inscribed on reverse "1827-1927 - The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Co Charter granted Feb 28th 1827 First Stone laid July 4 1828, reached Elliott's Mills May 22 1830, Steam first used Aug. 30 1830, Reached Washington Aug 25 1835, Reached Wheeling Dec 25 1852, First train to St Louis in 1857, First train to Chicago in 1874, First train to Philadelphia in 1886, First railroad using electric locomotive 1994.
