Centre depicts scene of river, town, bridges and Harper's Ferry W.Va. Inscribed on reverse "1827-1927 - The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Co Charter granted Feb 28th 1827 First Stone laid July 4 1828, reached Elliott's Mills May 22 1830, Steam first used Aug. 30 1830, Reached Washington Aug 25 1835, Reached Wheeling Dec 25 1852, First train to St Louis in 1857, First train to Chicago in 1874, First train to Philadelphia in 1886, First railroad using electric locomotive 1994.
