Poster, British Railways (London Midland Region), 'Ribblesdale', North West Yorkshire, by John Greene, about 1955. Coloured lithograph depicting the village of Stainforth in the Yorkshire Dales, with the country lane, Goat Scar Lane, winding between dry stone walls and houses, and hills, including Smearsett Scar, in the distance. Below is the text, "Ribblesdale, North West Yorkshire. Go in comfort by train to Settle, Giggleswick or Horton-in-Ribblesdale stations. Ribblesdale, among the Pennine Fells, is remarkable for the beauty of its moorland and mountain scenery, its waterfalls and its interesting caves and potholes." At bottom right is the British Railways 'totem' logo. Printed by Wood, Rozelaar & Wilkes, London, NW10.
