Poster, London Midland & Scottish Railway, Stirling, The Gateway to the Highlands, by Maurice Greiffenhagen R.A., about 1927. Coloured lithograph depicting knights on horseback fighting foot soldiers beside the bridge over the River Forth, with Stirling Castle in the background. Portrays the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297, when a Scots army led by William Wallace defeated an invading English force. Format: quad royal. Dimensions: 40 x 25 inches, 1016 x 635mm.
