Poster, London Midland & Scottish Railway and London & North Eastern Railway, The Clyde, by Norman Wilkinson, about 1935. Coloured lithograph depicting the view across The Clyde with a two-funnel steamer emerging into the estuary, with yachts ahead. At the right side is a lighthouse, with mountains in the distance. Accompanying text reads "Only a few miles from Glasgow lies the bonnie Firth of Clyde on whose blue waters the Railway Companies operate up-to-date Pleasure steamers for fascinating excursions. Here, amid cloud-topped mountains, the vessel traverses the lovely lochs to whose sparkling beauty the noble hills form a fitting background. From the Clyde Coast piers, Loch Long, Loch Goil, Holy Loch, Rothesay or The Kyles of Bute may be visited, and days of unforgettable pleasure spent in the luxury of a miniature liner".
