Ford model N 4-cylinder touring car, dark green. Built in 1906 by Ford Motor Company in Detroit, USA. Contains a 1,980 cc four-cylinder, in-line, water-cooled engine with an output of 15 hp produced at 2,200 rpm. Has two-speed and reverse epicyclic gears.

The Ford model N car was the predecessor of the more famous model T. Henry Ford designed the model N to test his ground-breaking ideas for a cheap, mass-produced car. The model N’s light yet strong chassis, simple and robust four-cylinder engine, and two-speed and reverse gear system were carried through to the design of the model T.
