Three speed hypocyclic gear for cycle, on stand with connections

This is a partly sectioned specimen of the three-speed cycle hub patented by Mr. M. Pederson in 1902. The gear is of the epicyclic type, runs solid on the normal speed, gives a higher speed 50 per cent above and a lower speed 33.3 per cent below the normal. A free wheel is obtained at each speed and ball bearings are fitted throughout.
