Five sample sections of built up surface framework of:- (a) Wright Clarke Gilder; (b) Bleriot Monoplane; (c) Clarke aeroplane; (d) Farman Biplane; and (e) Wright Biplane

These examples of aircraft wing structure are part of a number built for the Museum from 1910 by T.W.K. Clarke to show constructional details of various makes. The upper section shows the Blériot system. Below is a later design of Clarke's derived from his experience building Wright- type wings and which uses ash spars.
