Steljes ABC type printing telegraph receiver No. 477, made by the Typewriting Telegraph Corporation Limited, London, England, 1895-1910.

The Steljes printer was designed for use with the Wheatstone ABC telegraph and allowed a permanent printed record of the messages to be made. ABC telegraph instruments were used extensively on private lines. These were telegraph lines not connected to the Post Office's inland network and not contravening their monopoly.
