Primax loud speaker (sectioned), made by the Sterling Telephone and Electric Company Limited, Dagenham, London, England, 1924-1927

The main feature of this loudspeaker is its pleated diaphragm. This was introduced by Lumiere in 1908. The moving-iron unit that drives the paper diaphragm has been sectioned to show its workings in great detail.
