Moy Camera with accelerator unit and 35mm 'Wray' lens

'Moy' camera with accelerator unit, made by Ernest F Moy Limited, Camden, London, England, 1950-1970. With 35mm Wray lens, made by Wray Optical Works Limited, Bromley, London, England, 1950-1970.

This heavy duty camera equipment was used to record television pictures onto 35mm film. Before the use of video tape to record television pictures became widespread, telerecording cameras like this were used instead. They filmed directly from a television screen and captured the moving images onto film to be processed. This allowed the images to be stored for archive purposes.
