- maker:
- Bush and Bush and Bush Radio Limited
Bush TV22 9 inch television receiver, made by Bush Radio Limited, England, 1945-1955. With band III convertor, 1957.
The Bush TV22 was first produced in 1950 and is now seen as iconic of the Bakelite televisions of the 1950s. An inexpensive and popular television set, the TV22 sold in large numbers. One of the selling points of the TV22 was that it was the first British television set produced that could be tuned by the owner to either of the then two BBC transmitters, as well as a further three proposed channels. From 1955 a Band III convertor was fitted to the TV22 enabling easy selection of the newly launched ITV channel.
