This is Neil Armstrong's headset that he used on the Apollo 11 mission to communicate with Mission Control. It was lighter in weight and more comfortable than the larger 'Snoopy Cap' headsets that were worn during launch, while in the Lunar Module during descent to and ascent from the lunar surface, and while on the Moon.
