'Express' was acquired in America, possibly purchased in 1809 [Dittmar] or captured in 1815 [Lyon], or purchased in 1815 [Winfield]. Signed Thomas Roberts [Master Shipwright, Plymouth Dockyard, 1813-1815]'.

Whole model (rigged in Museum) of the naval schooner 'Express', 1815. Scale1:48. It is not clear whether this vessel was built by Thomas Roberts, at Plymouth, or whether she was a captured American vessel, 'Anna Maria', which he modified to Admiralty requirements.
