Shipbuilders' commission with the ship depicted in three different positions, stern, aft, and port, full sail. Coastal scene off Margate. The Herefordshire was built in Bombay in 1813 to the specification of the East India Company who chartered her from private ownership. She was of 1342 tons burden with a crew of 130 men and armed with 26 guns
