Telegraph block instrument; South Eastern Railway; Walker's patent No. 245. Sykes absolute combined Lock and Block with 2-position/2-indication double (lower-quadrant) semaphore-arm block-indicators mounted on a brass finialled-post encased in a circular brass-bezelled aperture. The LHS signal-arm (red/vertical white bar) and RHS signal-arm (white/vertical black bar) are against a rectangular-black background. Below this is a black bakelite bell-key/ tapper, to the RHS of which is a circular-brown bakelite commutator. A brass bell-dome assembly is attached at rear.
