Telegraph block instrument; G. K. Winter/J. Craik (Patents: 1880/1885). Combined absolute pegging/non-pegging 2-needle 2-position/2-indication. "On Line(red)/Cleared(black)" (Accepting : "Train Coming From") and "Cleared/On Line" (Sending : "Train Going To"), on LHS/RHS dials respectively; a bell-assembly being mounted behind/above the former. Between/below the dials is a large brass-handle commutator, positions "Off" (black)/ "On" (Red), below which is a central brass-mounted, large black-bakelite bell-plunger. In the centre of the base-board is painted in white the letter "A", and to the left of which is a small black-bakelite plunger. The instrument is missing its cover-case, removed to show mechanism.
