'Shadow Mono-ski' sports wheelchair with accompanying hand held guide skis, for alpine events, manufactured by Quickie for Sunrise Medical Ltd, England 1993-1995

Made for a person with mobility disabilities, this ski-sports wheelchair was used for downhill skiing. The Shadow Mono-Ski carried many top competitors to victory in major sit-ski competitions around the world. Mono-skiing became a Paralympic event in 2008 at the Nagano Games. The Shadow Mono-ski is steered using the hand held skis either side of the wheelchair. Part of the brand Quickie, the wheelchair was made by Sunrise Medical Ltd - specialists in making wheelchairs and mobility devices. The wheelchair has since been discontinued.
