Painting, oil on canvas, 'Laying track on Permanent Way', by Hugh Chevins, 1966. Depicts a permanent way gang laying railway track at night on British Railways. The team is working in a station, unloading long lengths of rail from railway wagons, and fixing them to concrete sleepers. The station platform and a signal box are at left, with tall tanks at the edge of the track in the distance. Signed and dated by the artist at right. Unframed.
