Model, scale 1:12, Land's End Seine fishing boat, with Seine net, William Williams, Mousehole, Cornwall, England, 1875-1883. The Seine boats were employed in the Cornish pilchard fisheries to carry the very large seine-net that were used to enclose the fish. The Seine boats were very stoutly built, because Seine-nets could be as large as 1,080 ft. long, 72 ft. deep, with a weight of three tons.
