Whole model, scale 1:12, rigged, of a Scotch deep sea or herring fishing boat, the 'Duchess of Edinburgh', by Alexander Taylor, Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, 1875-1883. The hull of this model is typical of the larger class of Scotch 'Fifies' which were employed in the North Sea herring fisheries. These vessels belonged to the East Coast of Scotland and ranged from about 55 to 70 ft. long and from 25 to 35 tons register.
