Model, Scale 1:12, of a Fair Isle (Shetland) skiff, unsigned, Fair Isle, Shetland, Scotland, 1875-1883. Fair Isle Skiffs were until the middle of the 19th century, generally employed around the Shetland Islands. Having Scandinavian origins, the planks for many of the Shetland fishing boats were imported, ready shaped, from Norway until as late as 1860.
