Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Officials, 1895
- Made:
- 1895 in Manchester
A brown leather-bound photograph album with the words “Officials of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company, 1895” and “F. Attock” embossed in gold on the front cover. The spine bears the handwritten reference “Misc/010” in white ink. Additionally, the inside of the front cover bears a small white label which reads: “Bound by Hy. Blacklock and Co. Manchester”. The album contains black-and-white photographic portraits of officials of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company, dating from 1895. Each portrait is accompanied by the individual's handwritten signature in black ink beneath the image. The album also includes a loose sheet of paper listing the officials depicted. This list records the names and job titles of the officials and, in some cases, their work locations. Additionally, the inside of the back cover bears a handwritten reference, made in blue ink, that reads: “153/1-2/67”. Given the format of the annotation, this can be identified as a Clapham Acquisition number.
