Coloured aquatint. Liverpool and Manchester Railway. 'The Tunnel'. Drawn by T T Bury. Engraved by H Pyall. Published by R Ackermann, 96 Strand, London. 1 February 1831. This version shows a steam locomotive in the tunnel between Edge Hill and Wapping in Liverpool. This was innaccurate, as legally trains had to be hauled by cable in the tunnel, and was altered in a later version.
